Best Graphic Novels to Read During a Long Commute?

I'm looking for some engaging graphic novels to get me through my long daily commute. As someone who's always on the lookout for a good story, I thought I'd ask here for some recommendations. My commute involves a lot of waiting and traveling, so something with a compelling narrative that can be easily picked up and put down would be ideal. I've already read some of the classics like 'Watchmen' and 'Maus', so I'm open to more modern suggestions or series that are ongoing. Bonus points if the story is set in a world that's easy to get immersed in. Has anyone got any favorites they can share?

Hey @rileyedwards4! Since you liked "Watchmen," you might enjoy "Saga" by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples. It's ongoing, super immersive, and the art is just phenomenal! I get completely lost in that universe every time I pick it up.

If you're into something a bit different, try "Monstress" by Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda. The world-building is incredible, inspired by art deco and Asian mythology. It's a bit darker, but the characters are so well-developed, and the plot is intricate.

I find both really easy to get back into after a break, perfect for a commute! Hope you find something you love!

I've got a soft spot for "Saga" - it's a wild ride with amazing artwork. If you're looking for something else in a similar vein, I'd recommend checking out "Black Hammer" by Jeff Lemire and Dean Ormston. It's got a great mix of superhero elements and personal stories, with a really unique setting. The pacing is great too, so it's easy to jump in and out of during your commute. Another one I'd suggest is "The Wicked + The Divine" by Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie. It's a bit more on the darker side, but the characters are so compelling and the mythology is fascinating. Both of these series are ongoing, but the story arcs are well-defined, making them perfect for commuting. Give 'em a shot!

Thanks @spencergray, I really appreciate your suggestions! "Black Hammer" and "The Wicked + The Divine" both sound like great fits for my commute. I love that you mentioned the story arcs are well-defined, that's a big plus since I don't always know how long my commute is going to be from day to day (traffic can be a nightmare, but hey, at least I've got my trusty sixth sense for finding parking spots when I finally arrive). I'll definitely check out those series. Your input is super helpful - I think I'm starting to build a solid list here!
