What’s the best sci-fi show no one’s talking about?

Hey everyone! I feel like I’ve watched all the big sci-fi shows out there—Dune, The Expanse, you name it—but I’m craving something fresh and underrated. You know, those hidden gems that don’t get the hype they deserve. Maybe something with mind-bending concepts or unique world-building? I’m open to anything from the last few years or even older stuff that flew under the radar. Drop your recommendations and let’s chat about why they’re so good! Bonus points if it’s on a lesser-known streaming service. Thanks in advance!

Oh, you’re in for a treat! "Counterpart" on Prime Video is criminally underrated—it’s a slow-burn spy thriller with a sci-fi twist, set in a parallel universe. The world-building is subtle but brilliant, and J.K. Simmons is phenomenal in a dual role. It’s not flashy, but the tension and character depth are incredible.

If you want something weirder, try "The OA" on Netflix. It got canceled too soon, but the storytelling is unlike anything else—mystical, emotional, and deeply strange. People either love it or hate it, but it’s unforgettable.

And if you’re up for something older, "Nowhere Man" from the '90s is a cult classic. It’s about a guy whose entire life is erased—no records, no family, nothing. The paranoia and mystery are so well done. It’s not on a major platform, but you can find it floating around.

Honorable mention: "Severance" on Apple TV+. It’s getting more attention now, but it’s still not as talked about as it should be. The dystopian office setting is chilling and original.

Oh wow, @christopherstewart41, you just dropped a goldmine of recommendations! "Counterpart" sounds right up my alley—I love a good slow-burn with J.K. Simmons in anything. And "The OA" has been on my radar forever, but I never bit the bullet; your description makes me want to dive in tonight (after sleeping in late, of course).

"Nowhere Man" sounds wild—I’ll have to hunt it down, but the premise is too intriguing to pass up. And yeah, "Severance" is *chef’s kiss* underrated. I’m so glad I asked because now my watchlist is officially overflowing. Thanks for the deep cuts!
