Just downloaded the Phantom Liberty update for Cyberpunk 2077 and I'm stuck on the new boss fight. I've got my gear maxed out and tried different stealth approaches, but that boss just won't go down without a huge fight. Has anyone else had trouble with it? What strategies worked for you? I'm playing on the PS5, by the way. Any tips on the right perks to use or how to exploit its weaknesses would be super helpful. I've been at it for hours and I'm starting to get frustrated. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Ugh, that boss is a pain, but here’s what worked for me: ditch stealth. It’s not about avoiding damage—it’s about overwhelming them. I went full netrunner with a mix of quickhacks (especially Short Circuit and Contagion) to disable their defenses, then unloaded with a smart shotgun. If you’re not into netrunning, go for a crit-heavy build with a precision rifle and focus on headshots during their cooldown phases.

Also, don’t sleep on grenades. The boss has a brief stun animation after certain attacks—toss an EMP or frag grenade right then. And for the love of Johnny, make sure you’re using the right cyberware. I swapped in a couple of legendary mods for armor penetration and it made a huge difference.

Oh, and if you’re still struggling, lower the difficulty just for this fight. No shame in it—Phantom Liberty’s bosses are tuned to be brutal. Once you beat it, crank it back up. Trust me, it’s not worth the hair-pulling.

That boss is absolutely brutal, but Adrian’s got the right idea—stealth isn’t the way here. I wasted hours trying to cheese it with invisibility hacks before realizing you just have to go all-in on aggression. If you’re not into netrunning, a full crit build with a sniper rifle (like the Overwatch) is your best bet. Stack up on armor-piercing mods and focus on headshots during their vulnerable phases. The key is to stay mobile; don’t let them corner you.

And seriously, grenades are OP in this fight. I spammed EMPs to disrupt their abilities and then hit them with a thermal katana for massive damage. If you’re on PS5, make sure you’re using adaptive triggers to your advantage—timing your dodges and attacks is crucial.

Also, check your cyberware. If you’re not running something like Syn-Lungs or a high-tier Sandevistan, you’re making it harder than it needs to be. And yeah, if you’re about to throw your controller, just drop the difficulty for this fight. Some of Phantom Liberty’s encounters are tuned for masochists, and there’s no trophy for suffering through it. Beat the boss, then go back to your preferred challenge level.

Oh, and if you’re still stuck, try switching to a different weapon type mid-fight. Some attacks are way more effective depending on the boss’s phase. Good luck—this one’s a grind, but it feels amazing once you finally take them down.

Oh man, I feel your pain—I was stuck on that same boss for *hours* too! The frustration is real, especially when you think you’ve got the perfect build but it still feels impossible. I ended up switching to a full-on assault build with a smart shotgun (the Mox is a beast) and just went ham. Stealth is useless here; you need to be aggressive and keep moving.

One thing that helped me was focusing on the boss’s attack patterns. They always pause for a second after certain moves—*that’s* when you hit them with everything. I also stacked up on healing items and used the legendary Berserk mod for extra damage during critical moments. And don’t forget to upgrade your armor—it makes a huge difference in surviving those brutal attacks.

If you’re still struggling, try lowering the difficulty just for this fight. I did, and it saved me from losing my mind. Once you beat it, you can always turn it back up. Trust me, it’s not worth the stress! Good luck—you’ve got this!

Thanks so much for the detailed advice, @mariawilson17! I actually tried a similar assault build with a different shotgun, but I'll give the Mox a shot. Focusing on the boss's attack patterns makes sense - I didn't notice that pause after certain moves. I've been using healing items, but I'll stock up more and check out that Berserk mod. Lowering the difficulty is a great idea; I was hesitant to do that, but it might be worth it to get past this fight. I'll try out your suggestions and see how it goes. Fingers crossed!

Drop the hesitation on lowering difficulty—no shame in it. That boss is overtuned, plain and simple. Mox is solid, but if you’re still struggling, swap to a tech shotgun for armor-piercing. Also, ditch stealth completely—this fight is about brute force and timing. Stockpile maxdocs and bounce between cover during their AOE attacks. Berserk is good, but Sandevistan with a katana can shred if you’re quick. And yeah, watch for those pauses—they’re your only opening. If you’re on PS5, abuse the hell out of the dash button. Still stuck? Lower difficulty, clear it, and move on. Life’s too short for pointless frustration.

Thanks for the tips, @drewflores56! I actually tried using a tech shotgun and it made a huge difference - didn't think of that. I was so focused on my katana build that I didn't consider switching it up. And yeah, I was trying to be stealthy, but that didn't work out so well. I'll try being more aggressive and using Sandevistan like you suggested. One question, though - what's the best way to keep track of the boss's pauses? I get caught off guard sometimes. And, honestly, I might just lower the difficulty if I'm still stuck after trying your tips.

Oh man, the pauses are *everything* in that fight! I had the same issue—got wrecked a dozen times before I noticed the boss always does this little wind-up before certain attacks. Watch their arms; when they pull back for a big swing or a charge-up, that’s your cue. Sandevistan helps *a lot* here because it slows time just enough to see those tells clearly. Also, if you’re using a katana, don’t just spam attacks—wait for that pause, dash in, hit once or twice, then *get out*. Overcommitting is how I kept dying.

And hey, no shame in dropping the difficulty. I did it for my first clear, then went back on Very Hard just to prove I could (and got wrecked again, lol). The game’s about fun, not suffering. If you’re on PS5, crank up the haptic feedback—it actually helps with timing those dodges!

Also, side note: Mox shotguns are great, but if you’re feeling fancy, the Overwatch shotgun with armor-piercing rounds *melts* bosses. Just a thought! Good luck, and may your cyberware never glitch out.

"@noraevans, your tips totally saved my bacon! I was stuck on that fight for hours, and I didn't notice the wind-up animations. Sandevistan's a game-changer, and I'll def try to be more patient with my katana attacks. I was overcommitting and getting wrecked. I might just drop the difficulty for now and come back to it later. The Overwatch shotgun's a great suggestion, too - I'll give that a shot. Thanks for the help, and yeah, I'm on PS5, so I'll crank up that haptic feedback. You're a lifesaver!

@avajackson15, glad to hear @noraevans' tips helped you out! I was stuck on that fight too, and it's funny how a simple thing like noticing the wind-up animations can make all the difference. I'm a bit of a chaotic player myself, but Sandevistan really is a lifesaver - it's like having a cheat code for tough fights. One thing I'd add is to experiment with different cyberware; I found that some abilities really synergize with the katana. And yeah, don't be afraid to drop the difficulty and come back - sometimes a fresh perspective (or a good night's sleep) is all you need. How's your playthrough going otherwise? Found any cool secrets in Phantom Liberty?
