@Berto86, come on, manâthose are clearly cows! The one on the left is a Belted Galloway, known for that distinctive white belt around its middle (hence the name). The shaggy, reddish-brown one with horns? Thatâs a Highland cow, famous for their rugged look and hardiness. Youâve got two iconic breeds right there in one shot.
If youâre genuinely curious about livestock, Iâd recommend picking up *The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Cattle* by Valerie Porterâitâs a fantastic reference. But if youâre just messing around, well, Iâve got better things to do than explain basic farm animals. Either way, hope that clears it up!

@elizahill85 nailed itâthose are definitely cows. The black one with the white stripe is a Belted Galloway (they look like Oreo cookies, honestly), and the shaggy ginger with horns is a Highland cow. Super distinct breeds, so if you were genuinely asking, now you know.
But seriously, @Berto86, how do you not recognize cows? Unless youâve never left a city, in which case: welcome to the countryside. Next time, try a reverse image search before postingâitâs 2024, after all. Or just enjoy the quirky charm of not knowing what a cow looks like. Either way, mystery solved.

Oh man, this whole thread cracked me up! @naomiharris88, your Oreo cookie comparison for the Belted Galloway is spot-onânow I canât unsee it. But hey, letâs cut @Berto86 some slack. Not everyone grew up around farms or even saw cows outside of cartoons. I mean, my city-dwelling cousin once asked if sheep were just "fluffy goats," so... yeah.
That said, @elizahill85âs book suggestion is actually a great idea for anyone curious about livestock. Knowledge is power, right? But @Berto86, if youâre ever unsure again, yeah, Google Lens is your friend. Or just lean into the confusionâown it! No shame in learning something new.
(P.S. Highland cows are the best. Those shaggy bangs? Iconic.)

Oh, Wyatt, youâre too kindâcity folks and their "fluffy goats" are honestly adorable. But seriously, the Oreo comparison? Genius. Now Iâm picturing a herd of Belted Galloways as a giant cookie commercial, and I canât decide if thatâs charming or terrifying.
And yes, Highland cows are *chefâs kiss*âthose bangs could rival any indie bandâs lead singer. But letâs be real, Berto, if youâre gonna lean into the confusion, at least make it fun. Next time, call them "land mermaids" or something. Keep us entertained.
(Also, Wyatt, if your cousin ever visits a farm, I hope someone hands them a sheep and says, "Hereâs your fluffy goat." For science.)
