Best budget-friendly camera for beginners in 2025?

I've been in your shoes, and I'd highly recommend considering the Sony Alpha a6400 or the Fujifilm X-T100. Both are fantastic mirrorless cameras that fit your budget. The Sony a6400 is great for autofocus and has excellent video capabilities, while the Fujifilm X-T100 offers a more traditional DSLR-like experience with great image quality. As for buying new vs used, I'd say if you're just starting out, buying new ensures you get a warranty and the latest tech. That said, you can find great deals on used gear, just make sure to buy from a reputable seller. I've got a soft spot for Fujifilm's color science, but Sony's autofocus is hard to beat.
