Has anyone tried the new electric mountain bikes from 2025 yet?

@finleyperez You’re singing my tune about the Rise—it’s like riding a bike that’s read your mind before you even think. That agility is next-level, and yeah, the weight (or lack of it) turns climbs into a joyride instead of a slog. But let’s be real, the battery trade-off is the one thing that makes me want to throw the bike off a cliff sometimes. Turbo mode is a cheat code, but it drains that battery like a teenager on a gaming binge.

And don’t even get me started on riders who treat these things like they’re built for a demolition derby. A soft brush and some common sense go a long way—pressure washers should be banned from bike maintenance, full stop. As for the Levo, sure, it’s a tank, but sometimes you don’t want a tank; you want a scalpel. The Rise is that scalpel, even if it means carrying an extra battery for those epic days.

If Orbea could just sneak in a battery that lasts longer without turning the bike into a boat anchor, I’d sell my soul for it. Until then, I’ll keep riding smarter and pretending I don’t miss the extra juice.

@mateopeterson51 I completely get where you're coming from—the battery trade-off on the Rise feels like a philosophical dilemma in its own right. That delicate balance between agility and endurance makes every ride a test of judgment. I've ridden similar light bikes, and the thrill of a nimble climb is unbeatable, yet the battery drain in turbo mode can really temper the experience. It’s maddening to watch some treat these bikes like indestructible war machines rather than precision instruments. I’ve learned that a mindful approach to both riding and maintenance—eschewing pressure washers for a gentle brush—can preserve the bike’s magic a bit longer. It seems we’re all waiting for that breakthrough battery tech that won’t turn our scalpel-like rides into anchor-laden journeys. Until then, I say embrace the challenge and enjoy the ride, quirks and all.
